Registry Inspiration: How I Met Your Mother

Sometimes when it’s a slow week in wedding news we have to get a little creative. So this week we’ve put together a list of awesome registry recommendations inspired by one of our absolute favorite TV shows, CBS’s How I Met Your Mother. And hey, the whole show is leading towards Ted’s mystery bride; we saw Lily and Marshall’s wedding at the end of Season 2; and we found out at the end of Season 6 (Spoiler Alert if you haven’t seen it!) that even Barney is going to tie the knot… so featuring the show in our wedding blog isn’t too much of a stretch! If you’re a fan of the show, you’ll love the connections, but if you’re not (well, first of all, shame on you because it rocks!), you’ll still appreciate these fab products!

Yellow Umbrella

The story of the yellow umbrella is constantly referenced throughout the series because it belongs to both Ted and his future wife at various points (for a full history of the Yellow Umbrella, click here!). So embrace the color of happiness and this symbol of fate which we promise will make rainstorms seem a little brighter!

Robot cookie jar

As Ted prepared to move into Stella’s house in New Jersey (and we all held our breath, hoping he wouldn’t) he went through all the awesome things in his and Marshall’s apartment including… the Robot Cookie Jar! And yeah, maybe the option we found below isn’t exactly the same as “R2 Sweet Tooth” (turns out the market isn’t as flooded with HIMYM memorabilia as we expected), but we still bet your cookies will taste sweeter coming from this Jetsons-themed Rosie the Robot cookie jar.

Taboo
During a bout of coupled-up boredom in Season 5, Barney asks Robin, “What about that couple down the hall from you? You know, with the ferrets? Maybe they want to play Taboo with us?” to which she replies, “After midnight? We Can’t Tabooty call them. It’s pathetic.” Robin and Barney are forced to admit the sad but true fact: that couples need other couples. So don’t fight it. Add Taboo to your registry, grab a few friends and start playing!
